Doris J. Scully

Doris June Scully, 82, of Cary passed away peacefully on May 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 15, 1935 in San Francisco, CA to Samuel and Hortence (nee Sullivan) Deal.

Doris spent her childhood in San Francisco and Palo Alto, CA until she was 18; she later moved to Chicago until 1967, Carpentersville until 1982 and then settled in Cary until her passing.

Doris worked as a nurse’s aide at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, but her greatest joy was being a homemaker and raising her 8 children with her husband, John. She was catholic and enjoyed volunteering her time at Good Shepherd Hospital, where she made caps for cancer patients and crocheting blankets for nursing home residents.

Doris will be deeply missed by her loving husband, John P. Scully; their children, John R., Daniel J. (Lorraine), James W. (Debbie), Michael F., Lawrence R., Patrick C. Scully, Laurie A. (Nick) D’Andrea and Kathyn (Daniel) Krysh and 16 grandchildren.
