Dorothy Ellen (Wiley) Arbuthnot

Dorothy E. Arbuthnot (nee Wiley), age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

Dorothy had a beautiful smile that never left her face. She was known to all as an incredibly gracious hostess for years in their Barrington Hills home and in Palm Desert. She was the center of all family activity and would coordinate everything. Malcolm and Dorothy, long time married, built their own home in Glenview, IL before moving the family to Barrington Hills, IL in 1968 and were proud members of both the Barrington Hills Country Club and the La Quinta Country Club in Palm Desert, CA. For years she would volunteer weekly at Wauconda Care Nursing Home. Dorothy was also very independent and travelled extensively all over the world. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Arbuthnot of Inverness, IL and her son-in-law, David Wilbert of Barrington, IL.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, Malcolm Arbuthnot; and her loving children, Robert Arbuthnot and her daughter, Donna Wilbert.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held privately at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 West Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington, IL.
