Dorothy Marie Leonard,82, of Tomahawk, Wisconsin and formerly of Hoffman Estates, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Crystal Lake.

Born on September 4, 1929 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the Late Harry A. and Elsie L. (nee Swanson) Morris.  On August 20,1955, she was united in marriage to John Patrick Leonard in Chicago.

Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlepoint, camping, fishing, practical jokes, and especially enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Cynthia Marquardt, John Jr. ((Janine) Leonard, and Jeanne (Ed) Grassel; grandchildren, David Jr., Andrea and Larren Leonard, Anthony Marquardt, and Jason and Matthew Grassel; great grandchildren, Kristina, Joshua, and Mya Leonard; daughter-in-law Candice Leonard; sister Marilyn Sheetz; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband John Patrick Leonard Sr.; daughter Barbara Ann Leonard; sons Robert and David; granddaughter Elise Marie; and son-in-law James Marquardt.

The Visitation will be 3-8pm, Tuesday, December 6, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake. Prayers will be said at 10am on Wednesday, December 7 at the funeral home and a brief service will be held at the chapel at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles. Interment will follow at Norwood Park Home Cemetery in Niles.
