Dorothy Petersen was born March 8th, 1941, in Elmhurst, Illinois to Elmer and Helen (nee. Christiansen) Petersen.
Dorothy was a hairdresser and owned her own shop in Lake Zurich called "A Cut Above". A crafter at heart, Dorothy enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting, painting, cross stitching, and paper art. She was full time caregiver for her two grandsons for many years and was called "Grandma Dorothy" to the kids at school and in the neighborhood. She was active at her church and participated in her local knitting groups.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Jill (Michael) Felbein, and Jodi (Philip) Rohlwing-Hettich; her grandchildren, Jacob Rohlwing, Joshua Rohlwing, Zoe Felbein, Darby Felbein, and Micah Felbein; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Donald Petersen, Robert (Doren) Petersen, Patricia (Norm) Stevens, Charles (Sandy) Petersen, and Richard Petersen.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 16th, from 3pm to 7pm at Davenport Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake, Illinois.
