Dorothy J. Piumbroeck passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Crystal Pines Rehabilitation Center in Crystal Lake, Illinois
Dorothy was born on September 6, 1926 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Michael and Leona Zaden.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Harold Piumbroeck; her sons, John (Cindy) Piumbroeck of Crystal Lake, and Larry (Kathleen) Piumbroeck of Minneapolis, MN; her daughter, Nancy Lage of St. Paul, MN; her grandchildren, Sarah (Scott) Bedoe, Michael (Mary Jo) Piumbroeck, Alison (Adam) Groebner, Tyler (Callie) Piumbroeck, Emily (Matthew) Martinson, Katharine Lage, and William Lage; and siblings, Camille Coppersmith and Sandra Zucker. Dorothy was blessed with eight great grandchildren: Madeline, William, Gianna, Jack, Griffin, Hazel, Oliver, and Beatrice.
Dorothy lived a wonderful life centered on home and family. She enjoyed gardening, bridge, antiquing, golf, and sailing. She was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan and took pride in her knowledge of the NFL game. However, her favorite player was Tom Brady.
Door County in Northeastern Wisconsin was always a special place for Dorothy and Harold. They spent most of their retirement years in Ephraim and Sister Bay, Wisconsin. Dorothy’s desire was always to return to Door County, so family and friends will gather in Sister Bay during the summer of 2016 for a memorial celebration of her life.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Crystal Pines Rehabilitation Center and JourneyCare for their kindness, support, and compassionate care.
Memorials may be directed to JourneyCare at www.journeycare.org.
