Douglas Jerry Bruce, 70, of McHenry, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Waukegan. Born on June 15, 1943 in Glendale, California, he was the son of Burtrand and Beverly Bruce.
Douglas was a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in California and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a pilot for American Airlines and was an independent insurance agent for New York Life. He was passionate about boating and was very involved with the Lyons Club.
He is survived by his twin sons, Ryan Bruce and his son Riley Bruce, and Joel Bruce; and his nephew and niece, J.D. and Jennifer.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Larry Bruce, and his sister Susan Kennedy.
The visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm, Thursday, December 12 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake.
