Douglas Francis Challos,69, of Hawthorn Woods, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Friday, May 25, 2012.
He was born on January 6, 1943 to Thomas and Renee Challos in Chicago.
Doug was a Commander in the U.S. Navy, where he eventually retired.
Doug is survived by his children, Courtney (Tim) Flynn, Brett Challos and his significant other, Nicole Bihlmeier; grandchildren, Fiona and Kiefer Flynn; brother, Thomas (Letitia) Challos and brother-in-law, Irving (Ruth) Hallberg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Challos; brother, Matthew Challos; brother-in-law, Herbert (Helen) Hallberg, and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 5-8p.m., Thursday, May 31,2012, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington, IL 60010, with a second visitation held one half hour before service on Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held at 10a.m., Friday, June 1,2012, at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
