Douglas "Doug" H. Zuberer

Douglas “Doug” H. Zuberer, 76, of Gilberts passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2022. He was born on October 27, 1945 in Albany, GA.
Doug was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Vietnam War. Prior to his service Doug graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Indiana class of 1963. After serving his country he obtained both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from St. Mary's College in California. He cherished spending more time with his children and his granddaughters in recent years. Doug was devoted to his faith and churches throughout the years. He loved his work and always described himself as a type A workaholic. Doug will be missed by his many colleagues in the asphalt industry.
Doug will be deeply missed by his loving wife Janice "Jan" of 33 years; his best friend and brother Dick (Susie) Zuberer; his children Richard (Gina) Cartwright , Michael (Dawn) Zuberer and Robin Zuberer. He will also be missed by his granddaughters Sierra, Mia, Halle and Samantha as well his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Zuberer and his parents Herman and Juanita Zuberer.
A memorial service for Doug will be held 11 AM on Friday, April 22, 2022  with a visitation starting at 10:30 AM at Davenport Family Funeral Home in Barrington.

Doug was at his best in a shirt and jeans, so please dress casually.
