Dr. Daniel Valentine Strelcheck, Sr.

Dr. Daniel Valentine Strelcheck Sr., 86, a retired doctor of chiropractic who practiced in Crystal Lake, Illinois for over half a century, passed January 24, 2022 surrounded by family.

While attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dan met and married his sweetheart, Barbara Lou Borchardt of 66 years.  After graduating college in 1958, Dan moved his family to Crystal Lake determined to help improve the lives of others in a career and community he so cherished.

A love for the winter season, Dan was the originator of the McHenry County Sheriff Snowmobile Patrol and founding member of the Snow Tigers Snowmobile Club.  A lifelong Green Bay Packer fan and as team owner also brought much joy this time of year.

During his life, his enthusiasm for travel and adventure took him and his wife, Barbara, around the globe where they easily made many lifelong friendships.

In his later years, the simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Dan.  He loved spending time with his family – he was so proud of, doing puzzles with his wife, Barbara, and enjoying a glass of his favorite brandy.  His kind and sweet personality will be remembered by all, especially his former patients who knew him as Dr. Grandpa.

Dr. Dan Strelcheck., Sr., is survivied by his wife, Barbara Strelcheck; daughter, June Pedersen (James Pedersen); son, Dr. Daniel Strelcheck Jr., (Pamela Strelcheck); 6 grandchildren, Ryan Strelcheck, (Ashley Strelcheck), Mark Pedersen, Alyssa Pedersen, Blake Karlin (Diana Karlin), and Alex Karlin (Asia Karlin): and 3 great grandchildren, Sophia Karlin, Layla Karlin, and Niomi Karlin.

A celebration of life to be announced late spring, early summer of 2022.
