A celebration of life service for Dudley C. Welch, 77, a lifelong resident of Barrington will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 14, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, where there will be memorial visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial of the urn will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
Born May 28, 1937, in Elgin, he passed away suddenly Saturday, August 9, 2014, in Council Bluffs, IA.
Dudley was an employee of Dover Elevator in Chicago for 38 years and was honorably discharged from the US Army.
He enjoyed fishing, grilling, traveling, and reading. Most of all, he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte (nee Ross), who he married January 29, 1966, in St. Anne Church, Barrington; children, Catherine (Leonard) Kwapnioski, Barbara (Dan) Janssen, Allan Welch, and Elizabeth (Travis) Miller; grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Charles, Xander, Shannon, Hannah, Jessica, and Gavin; sister, Barbara (James) Dolphin; and many well-loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allan Welch and Elizabeth (nee Considine) McDougall; and brother, Robert Welch.
