E. Wilson Slack

E. Wilson Slack, 87, passed away on Saturday morning, November 1, 2014. He was born October 9, 1927 in Kaw City, Oklahoma to Clara Hyde.

In 1945, at the age of 17, Wilson joined the United States Navy and served proudly in World War II. After the war, he attended Oklahoma A & M College (currently Oklahoma State University) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. For 38 years he worked for Amoca Oil Company (British Petroleum).

Over 64 years ago, on May 28, 1950, he married the love of his life, Shirlene Stoneking in Nowata, Oklahoma. Together they raised two boys.
Wilson had many hobbies. His favorites were golf, reading books, and above all, spending time with his family.

Besides his wife, Shirlene, Wilson is survived by his sons, Kevin Slack, Tulsa, OK, and Steven (Leeann) Slack, Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Kyle Slack, Crystal Lake, Curtis Slack, Chicago, Colin Slack, Crystal Lake, Christopher Slack, Crystal Lake, Dan (Melissa) Slack, Houston, TX, Mike (Renee) Slack, Oklahoma City, OK, Rachael (Ben) Jaudon, Norman, OK, and Ellie (Paul) Kinman, Tulsa, OK; and five great-grandchildren.
Wilson was preceded in death by his mother and brothers, Delbert and Benjamin.

Services for Wilson will be held privately. Inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
