Edgar K. “Ned” Paine, died earlier this week at the home of his daughter in South Barrington, IL. He is survived by his wife, children, step-children, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born and raised in southern California, graduating from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1943. He then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Pacific theater, most notably in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He began his business career in California and concluded it in Trussville, Alabama in 2000 where he was Founder and CEO for 30 years of Amerex Corporation, a recognized world leader in the Fire/Safety industry along with being very active with local civic and educational organizations. All services will be private. Interment will be in Honolulu, Hawaii at the National Cemetery of the Pacific (The Punchbowl).
