Arlington Heights, formerly of Crystal Lake, Altamont & Newton, Illinois,

Born Oct. 13, 1922 in Chicago to Edward and Elsie (nee Varchman) Senkpeil, she passed away Dec. 15, 2011 in Arlington Heights.

She was the beloved wife for 46 years of the late Norman Martin, loving mother of Ruth Ann (Walter) Marcelli and Jane (Keith) Kubicek, dear grandmother of John P. McCarty III, Matthew M. McCarty, Christine Winn, Kimberly Ann Davis, and Cory J. Fedorky, fond great-grandmother of Alan Burton, Lily Winn, Matthew McCarty Jr., Tyler Davis, and Blake Davis, cherished sister of Mildred Holmes and Edward (Janet) Senkpeil.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Edna’s first job was a secretary at Swift and Co., she went on to work for Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.  She enjoyed crocheting, and was an excellent cook and homemaker, mostly she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Visitation will be 4-8pm. Sunday Dec. 18 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake.  Services will be held 10am,Mon. Dec. 19 at Immanual Lutheran Church, 178 W. McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake.

Burial in Concordia Cemetery, Forest Park, following the service.
