Edward Hardy III

Barrington, Illinois,A memorial gathering for Edward "Tim" K. Hardy III, 76, will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, December 19, at the Barrington Hills Country Club, 300 W. County Line Road, Barrington Hills. Born August 21, 1933, in Chicago, he passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. A graduate of North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka and Amherst College in Amherst, MA, he went on to spend three years in the Air Force as a special agent for the O.S.I. Mr. Hardy was a retired investment banker, who was an active volunteer for the Western Golf Association, where he served as rules chairman for the Amateur Golf Tournaments, and he was a trustee of Elgin Academy. He had strong interests in salt-water fly fishing and golf. Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Ginny"; children, Richard (Melissa) Hardy and Carolyn (Dan) Selke; grandchildren, Brian and Eric Selke and Paige and Kathryn Hardy; and siblings, John (Janet) Hardy, Margaret Hardy, and Ruth (John) Mortimer.
