Edward Jacobs

Ed was born December 19, 1949 to William and Claire Jacobs. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, December 14, 2016 in Barrington.

Ed was a Barrington High School graduate and attended Northwestern University where he received his undergraduate and law degree, and the University of Chicago for his MBA degree.

He was a wrestler in high school and college and later coached youth wrestling. Ed was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at Northwestern.

Ed worked for Sears and Motorola as a corporate attorney. He served on the South Barrington Park District board for many years.

Ed is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue (nee Klepper); children, Jeff (Danielle) Jacobs, Christi (Paul) Rose, and Kurt Jacobs; grandchildren, Anna and Olivia Jacobs; and Reese and Reid Rose; brother, John (Laurie) Jacobs; and uncle Henry (Janet) Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation will be 3pm-9pm, with a memorial service at 7pm, Monday, December 19 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Road), Barrington. Inurnment will be private.
