Edward Joseph Rowley

Edward Joseph Rowley, 88 of Barrington, born on April 1, 1933 passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11 am at St. Anne’s Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington, where the family will be receiving friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Military Honors at 10:40 AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.

Edward is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received a Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University.  He taught in the Barrington and Arlington Heights school districts. Edward was a longtime manager of the Catlow Theatre in Barrington, and loved music, dancing, and singing. He also enjoyed Friday night dinner outings with his friends and winters in Florida. He was a member of the St. Anne Church Choir where he played guitar. Edward served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Clementine, three children; Cynthia, Michael (Doreen), and David Rowley; grandchildren, Rachael, Alex, Kit and Gigi, his sister Margaret, sister-in-law Jane, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his brother Eugene.
