Edward Slagis

Edward Charles Slagis, of the Village of Lakewood, Illinois, born March 2, 1934, in Scranton, PA, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015.

Edward was a loving husband to Eileen J. (nee Jacubinas) Slagis; devoted father to Edward “Nick” (Katherine Keefe) Slagis, Anne (Lester) Rich, Thomas Slagis, and E. Ada (Dorian) Cryer; cherished grandfather of Claire and Benjamin Slagis, Nora and William Rich, and Djali Cryer.

He was the loving son of Edward V. and Millie Slagis; dear brother of Ann Malatin, Jeanne Crowley, and Carolyn Slagis; and cherished nephew of Dorothy Stiasny Rasbach.

There will be a memorial service held in the spring.

In lieu of sending flowers: tip a waitress or cab driver generously, stop and smell the lilacs, pick some rhubarb, add more vanilla, read a story to a child, volunteer at a food pantry, donate to your favorite charity, love our God and love each other.
