The visitation for Edwin “Pop” Ficenec,78, formerly a long-time resident of Chicago, will be held from 3 p.m., Monday, January 2,2012, until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m., at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Inurnment will be private.
Born September 22,1933, in Spencer, Nebraska, to the late Arthur and Anne (nee Sedlacek), he passed away Tuesday, December 27,2011, at his home.
Edwin was a member of the Classic Thunderbird Car Club.
Survivors include his sons, Michael and John; grandchildren, Tammy (Mario) Favela, Tonia (David) Sewell, and Samantha (Andy) Noe; great-grandchildren, David Jr. and Shanna Sewell, Amber and Mario Favela, Jr., and Benjamin and Nathaniel Noe; and sisters, Marianne Baker and Mildred Erlenbusch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene.
