Elaine S. Fruecht

Elaine S. Fruecht, 85, long-time resident of Barrington, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2019. She was born on October 27, 1934 in Chicago to the late Anthony and Beatrice DeTomasi.

Elaine was a proud graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Lake Forest. Her nursing career spanned over 40 years working at St. Alexian Brothers Hospital and later at Good Shepherd Hospital. Elaine, a true matriarch of the family, will be most remembered for her wonderful cooking – which included recipes passed down from her parents. Elaine was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling, was an artist and loved to travel, especially to Italy.

Elaine will be deeply missed by her loving children, Keith (Kathy) West, Kent (Judy) West, Kelley (Anthony) Vari, Julie West, Jane (James) Pattison; grandchildren, Theresa (David) Zoltan, Michelle (Thomas) Guild, Thomas West, Brett and Eric (Kathleen) Vari, Alex Engel, Madeline Quinn, Emily and Sara Pattison; great-grandchildren, Tommy, Charlie, George and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, John and recently by her husband, Karl; her parents; her sisters, Elsie and Olga.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4 from 9 AM until the time of mass at 11 AM at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St. (Corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.), Barrington, IL. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
