Elaine Tesdell Helland, 90, of Cambidge.
Elaine was born May 10, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of William and Myrtle (nee Tesdell) Cassel. She passed away peacefully, August 19, 2013 in Barrington, IL, surrounded by her loving family.
Elaine was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines and taught kindergarten in the Ballard School District. She loved playing Bridge with her girlfriends and dancing with her husband Eddie at the Val Air and Lake Robbins Ballrooms
Elaine was the beloved wife for 70 years of LaVerne “Eddie” Helland, loving mother of Jan (the late Michael) Bevilacqua and Jill (Paul) Renze, dear grandmother of Chris (Roberta) Heintz, Cortney (Chris) Adams, Katie (Joe) Reginaldi, Ben Renze, and Will Renze, and fond great-grandmother of six, nieces Rhana Kelderman and Toni Tebbet. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Billy (the late,Lucy) Cassel.
Services and interment were private at the Fjeldberg Lutheran Cemetery in Huxley. A memorial service will be planned in the future.
