Elaine Therese Siska was born July 18, 1927 in Chicago, IL. She died peacefully at her Minnesota home surrounded by family on September 2, 2021.
Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband Henry of 65 years, her parents (John and Frances Jaydos), and Aunt Veronica Jaydos. She is survived by her children; Ron (late Mary Tuxhorn) Siska, Mark (Martha) Siska, JoAnn (George) Pelesh, Brigitte (John) Misko , grandchildren; Jason (Jill) Siska , Adam (Christina) Siska , Clare (Sam) Matthews , Anna Siska, Brady Pelesh, Henry Pelesh, Maxwell Misko, John Misko, and great grandson, Finn Siska.
Elaine was the only child of John and Frances Jaydos. She was raised by her wonderful Aunt Veronica after the sudden death of her mother when she was 4 years old. In her youth, she enjoyed roller skating, going to the movies, and spending summer days at Lake Delavan. During her 2 years of college she became a proud member of the Phi Gamma Nu sorority. She worked as an executive secretary until her marriage to Henry Siska on June 20, 1953.
Elaine was a beloved wife, devoted mother, and loving grandmother and great grandmother who cherished time and moments with her family more than anything. She was a kind and patient listener, an accomplished knitter, a needle pointer, and an avid reader. It didn’t matter if Elaine was on the sending or receiving side of a greeting card, she treasured them as one of the greatest expressions of love and kindness. In Elaine’s own words “her greatest reward was that she had four children that turned out great and as a Mom that is something to be proud of”.
