Elaine M. Wendtland

Elaine was born in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Lena Dantler nee Kiefer. She was the last member of her family of origin still living.

She was married to Edwin Wendtland for over 65 years. They had three children Neil (Sheryl), Laura Semmen (Gil), and Kurt Wendtland (Donna). Elaine was the proud grandmother to six grandchildren, Diana Wendtland, Nicole Schomer, Matthew Semmen, Christopher Semmen, Kristen Wendtland, and Michael Wendtland.

Nothing made Elaine happier than time spent with her children, grandchildren and six great grandchildren who lovingly called her Gigi. Her six great grandchildren are Grace Schomer, Katelyn Schomer, Wesley Semmen, Ethan Semmen and twins Logan and Casey Semmen.

Elaine was loved by many for being such a beautiful and loving matriarch of her family. Her love of music was evident when she played piano and sang for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very bright and witty and wrote many delightful poems for friends and family. Elaine was secretary to the engineering department for Culligan in Northbrook for over twenty years.

Elaine was predeceased by her dear husband Ed in 2016.

A celebration of life is being held at Presbyterian Church of Barrington 6 Brinker Rd. Barrington Hills, IL 60010 On Friday April 4th at 11:00 AM.
