Elaine Zoffer

August 13, 1926 — January 2, 2016

Visitation for Elaine Marie Zoffer (nee Maloney), age 89, lately of Barrington, Illinois, formerly of Oldsmar, Florida, will be held on Saturday, January 9th, from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by funeral services, at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Elaine was born on August 13, 1926, in Queens, New York and was raised there, in the Broad Channel community. She passed away on January 2, 2016, in Barrington, Illinois.

Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert H. Zoffer, Sr. Together they enjoyed many wonderful trips to Asia and Europe for business and pleasure. Elaine and Robert owned a housewares manufacturing company, Travco Plastics Company, in Brooklyn, New York, for 45 years, where Elaine worked as bookkeeper and import/export manager.

Upon her retirement, Elaine donated many hours of community service at local hospitals in St. Petersburg and Oldsmar, Florida. She was very patriotic, loved to make others laugh, and always stayed true to her feisty personality. Elaine enjoyed dressing up for the holidays with her large collection of themed jewelry and hats and she loved her dogs, T.J., Doe Doe and Tilly.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Nancy Meehan (Sean) of Barrington, Illinois, and her son, Robert H. Zoffer, Jr. (Nancy) of Safety Harbor, Florida. She is also survived by her six granddaughters, Laura Meehan, Patricia Ebel (Elliot), Alyssa Zoffer, Taylor Zoffer, Madison Zoffer, and Brooke Lynn Zoffer.

Elaine was also preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Edna Maloney, and her sister, Patricia Curry.
