Mogle,"" Eldon D. """"Joe"""" Former Barrington resident"",86, passed away Saturday, March 3,2012, at Kanmar Place Hospice in Tucson, Arizona. Born July 24, 1925 in Plymouth, Indiana, Joe was the youngest of three children of Floyd and Cleo Mogle. He was a standout football and basketball player at Plymouth High School, graduating in 1943. After service in the Navy,"" he attended Indiana University on the G.I. Bill"", where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration. Following a forty year career in the apparel industry, Joe retired as a Vice President of Jantzen Sportswear in 1987. He was an avid sports enthusiast throughout his life. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and loved watching his Indiana University Hoosiers play basketball. In his younger days he coached youth basketball and baseball, and actively followed Barrington sports, serving as president of the Barrington Quarterback Club in the mid-1970s. Joe is survived by his wife, Emily Wilson Mogle; sons, Steven (Joy) Mogle of Metairie, LA, David (Debra) Mogle of Yorkville, IL, and Thomas Mogle of Metairie, LA; daughter, Amy (Steven) Pitts of Anthem, AZ; stepdaughters, Bethany (Daniel) Conquest of Haslett, MI, and Julie (David) Zopf of Damascus, OR. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Irene Mogle; brother, Eugene Mogle; sister, Fayma Pownall; and his parents. Visitation will be held from 9am - 12 noon, Saturday, March 24,2012, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St, Barrington, with a funeral service at 12 noon at the funeral home following the visitation. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington,"" following the service.
