Eleanor Mae Tonyan, nee Mistretta, 80, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 8, 2013 at home surrounded by loving family.
She retired from being an excellent cook at Canterbury School in Crystal Lake to spending many winters in Avon Park, Florida where she loved playing bingo with her Floridian friends.
She was the beloved wife for 62 years of Louis "Jim" Tonyan; devoted mother of Louis "Jim" (Sue) Tonyan, Michael (Lisa) Tonyan, Todd (Suzanne) Tonyan, and Daniel (Linda) Tonyan; proud grandma of Troy (Jackie) Tonyan, Brad Tonyan, Louis "LJ" Tonyan, Amy (Matt) Van Landuyt, Adam (Leah) Hendle, John (Desiree) Hendle, Michael "MJ" Tonyan, Michelle (Phil) Schafer, Vanessa Knicker, Kayla Tonyan, and Tracy (Jacob) McHugh; great-grandma of seven; and dearest sister of Peter (Rita) Mistretta and Isabel (Ken) Mortimer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Mistretta; infant brother, Joey Mistretta; and niece, Dawn Murphy (nee Mortimer).
The visitation will be from 9:30-11:30am with a service at 11:30am, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
Interment will follow the service for the family at Windridge Cemetery in Cary, Illinois.
