Elizabeth A. Jay

June 5, 1959 — August 13, 2017

Elizabeth A. Jay, of Algonquin, born June 5, 1959 in Newark, Delaware to Clarence E. and Margaret (nee Scott) McFeely, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017.

Elizabeth had countless enjoyments in her life which kept her heart full. She was a dedicated fan to her beloved Chicago Blackhawks; she loved flowers, gardening and the outdoors, specifically the beach; and she warmly offered her house as a forever home for several shelter dogs over the years. She’ll be remembered by many as a mother figure, mentoring the young adults she worked with and her gift of giving advice without holding back. Most of all, Elizabeth adored the time she spent with her loving family and her many friends.

Elizabeth was a devoted wife to husband, Gary;  loving mother to children, Garett Jay, Emily (Eric) Taylor, and Daniel Jay; beloved sister to Thomas (Patty Nagel) McFeely, Scott (Linda) McFeely, Susan (Mike) Fitzgerald, and Carolyn McFeely; cherished daughter of Margaret McFeely; and adoring aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence McFeely.

Friends are welcome to visit with Elizabeth’s family on Saturday, August 19 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service beginning at 11:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 300 Jefferson St., Algonquin, IL 60102.
