Emily "Em" (Dircks) Mola

Emily “Em” Mola, age 95, of Barrington, IL, passed away on January 5, 2023. She was born on August 11, 1927 in Willow Springs, IL and grew up in Chicago, IL. Emily worked for Spiegel Catalog Company where she met her husband, Ken, whom she was married to for 60 years. After raising her two sons, she volunteered as the Kindergarten Angel at Countryside Elementary in Barrington, where she helped with crafts for the school children. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, baking cookies, jigsaw and word search puzzles and watching old game shows and Judge Judy.

Emily leaves behind her husband, Ken; sons, Ken Jr. of Sussex, WI and John of Chicago; sister, Violet (the late Jim) Williams of Burr Ridge; sister-in-law, Laverne (Robert) Tubay of Las Vegas, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Josephine Dircks (nee Masek); sisters, Loretta Krause (Ed) and Jane Grube (Bill); and brothers, Fred (Maybeth) Dircks, Charles Dircks, her twin brother, Bud (Betty) Dircks and Bob (Dorothy) Dircks; and father and mother-in-law, John and Rose Mola.

Services will be held at St. Mathew Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Avenue, Barrington, IL. Visitation on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 5pm to 7pm. Saturday, January 14, 2023, visitation at 9am, service at 10:30am at the church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. A luncheon will follow at the church.
