Emma Halter
April 20, 1925 — May 30, 2016
Emma Marie Halter, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on May 30, 2016 at the age of 91.
She was born April 20, 1925 in Chicago to Henry and Marie (nee Hoerburger) Wagner.
Emma volunteered her time with Little Christopher’s in Crystal Lake as well as with Woodstock Hospital for 15 years. She loved to play cards and dominos with her many close friends.
Emma will be dearly missed by her children, Judi Halter, William (Shelley) Halter, Nancy Jones, Patti Bear, Deb (Mike) Kouba, Rosey (Don) Yerkes, Robert (Emma) Halter, and Michael Halter; her beloved 17 grandchildren, and her cherished 17 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin, and a brother.
Friends are welcome to visit with Emma’s family on Wednesday, June 1, from 4-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave., (IL Rte 176) Crystal Lake. Transfer prayers will be held at the funeral home the following morning, June 2, at 9:30 a.m. with procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
Emma requested to kindly omit flowers. In her memory, donations may be made to the Senior Services Associates, with whom she spent many happy days, 110 W Woodstock St., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
