Erna Strobach

Born November 4, 1930 in Linz, Austria, Erna passed away October 12, 2014 at her home in Crystal Lake at the age of 83.

Erna and husband Kurt left Europe in search of their dream. They lived for many years in Austria, worked hard, built a small home with their own hands, brick by brick. Then later came to America; learned the language, and worked very hard to make their simple dreams come true. They loved America and traveled cross country many times.

Erna loved watching the birds and could name every one. She enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going to lunch with the girls and shopping. She was looked up to for her wise words of wisdom, courage and strength and the stories of her amazing life. From the hard times, of which she saw many to the good times of which she saw more. She brought so much happiness. She and her love of family will be greatly missed.

Erna is survived by her loving husband, Kurt of 64 years; children, Peter, Kurt and Karen; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
