Ernest Guenther Heide, Jr., of Cary, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the age of 82.
He was born July 5, 1933 in Des Plaines to Ernest Guenther and Isabella Francis (nee Cuny) Heide. Ernest was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Most of all he was very proud of his profession as a plumber since the age of 16. In addition to working for Sherman Plumbing and Heating, he was the owner of Heide Plumbing Company in Cary for 18 years. Upon retirement he worked as a building inspector for Vernon Hills.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Dorothy Heide, Laura (Glenn) Peterka, Scott Heide, and Susan Heide; his grandchildren, John Heide, Timothy (Kelly) Valdez, Kelsey and Corey Peterka, Josh (Alissa) Heide, Ashley (Rick) Weaver, Michael and Zachary Heide; 9 great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Iva Heide.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lucia Heide; second wife, Barb Heide; son, Steven Heide; granddaughters, Sara Heide and Alexandra Heide; and siblings, Donald Oefelein, Theo Sanchez, Nancy Poplin, Ida Krause, and Robert Heide.
A memorial for Ernest will be held at later date.
