Ernest P. Santangelo, 94 of Barrington
Born July 29, 1920 in Belgium to Louis and Susan Santangelo, passed away peacefully January 23, 2015 in Barrington.

Ernie served as a Captain in the US Army during WWII, with the 645th Tank Destroyers, earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in the battle of Anzio. After the war he became a Chicago Police Officer and a restauranteur. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Angela, children; Ernest, Richard, Robert (Mary), and Peter (Kathy) Santangelo, and Mary (Jeff) Keyser, grandchildren; Paul, Anne, Robert, Gina, Nicole (Justin), Jeffrey, Jonathon, Angela, and James. He was preceded in death by his brother Pat, and grandson Ernest.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Wednesday, January 28 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela St, Barrington, where visitation will be held for one hour prior to the mass. Burial in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 4-8pm Tuesday, January 27 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St (Lake-Cook), Barrington.
