Esther Adeline (Minster) Palumbo

Esther Adeline Palumbo 94, of Barrington Hills, a loving mother, grandmother and generous friend to many, died September 20th, 2020 in Barrington, Illinois.

Esther was born May 8, 1926, to Carl and Ada Minster in Chicago, Illinois. Esther married John Palumbo on August 8, 1941. Their lifetime partnership was blessed with a beautiful family and many successful business adventures.

Esther’s joys in life included raising her children and mentoring nephews and nieces on their farm in the late 1950’s and 1960’s. She and her husband John worked side by side farming their four farms from 1951 through 1976. Later, they purchased a mobile home estate park in California.  Esther eventually assumed total responsibility for the park management after her husband’s early death in 1995.  Esther’s final days were spent at the Garlands of Barrington.

Esther is survived by her three children, Penny Edecker of Paw Paw, Illinois, John Palumbo of Barrington, Illinois and Frank Palumbo of Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 3rd from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Davenport Funeral Home at 149 West Main Street, Barrington, Illinois 60010.

Burial service will be at 4:00 PM for the immediate family only at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington, Illinois.
