Eugene Vogler

Eugene “Gene” Raymond Vogler, 91, of Mundelein, died, February 2, 2015, in Barrington.
He was born on October 23, 1923, to Leo and Blanche Vogler, in Chicago. Gene served in the US Marine Corps from 1942 through 1945 in the South Pacific. On Jan. 6, 1945, he married Lorraine Kudelka, his wife of 65 years. They raised their family in Park Ridge, Illinois. Gene founded a confectionary food brokerage company, Hoffmann Vogler Company, in 1952. Hoffmann Vogler is currently operated by the 3rd generation of his family. Gene enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, traveling, spending winter months in Tucson and most of all spending time with his family.
Gene is survived by his loving children, Donald (Patricia) Vogler, Marilyn Beaulieu; daughter-in-law, Janet Vogler; grandchildren, Audra (Keith Davis) Vogler, Todd (Janica) Vogler, Clint (Jennifer) Vogler, Whitney (Robert) Whipple, Matthew (Elizabeth) Beaulieu, and Danielle (David Welch) Beaulieu; great grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Grace, Brady, Riley, and Luke; sister, Joan Mueller; and brother, Robert Vogler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine (nee Kudelka) Vogler; their son Lawrence Vogler; brothers, Leo Vogler, and James Vogler.
Visitation will be held on from 4-8p.m., Thursday, February 5, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.
Visitation will continue from 10a.m., until the funeral service at 11a.m., Friday, February 6, at the funeral home.
