Eva Maria Magnus (nee Roedelberger), a long-time resident of Barrington, Illinois passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, at the age of 97. Eva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Edward S. Magnus, four siblings, and her parents. She is survived by her children Edward F. Magnus, Eva C. Magnus, and Elizabeth M. Kennard (nee Magnus), and granddaughters Charlotte and Natalie Kennard, and great grandson Stanley Kozera. Eva was born November 1, 1926, in Bern, Switzerland to Franz and Natalia Roedelberger (nee Filipek). She was an equestrian and proud of her Swiss heritage. She studied languages in Switzerland and worked as a translator in German, French, Italian, English and her native Swiss-German. She met and married Edward S. Magnus in 1959, while he was attending medical school in Switzerland then moved to the United States. For decades Eva served on the altar guilds for Grace Episcopal Church in Hinsdale and St. James Episcopal in West Dundee, Illinois. Eva also enjoyed classical music, reading, skiing, cooking and traveling.
A private burial service will be held for Eva at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
