Evelyn Anna Hartwig,92, of Barrington, passed away, Sunday, December 25,2011, in Woodstock.
She was born on January 31,1919, to William and Edna Speck, in Carmi, Illinois.
In addition to Evelyn being a loving and caring mother, she enjoyed shopping, gardening, and travelling with her husband, Floyd. She was best known for her generosity with her family and friends.
Evelyn is survived by her loving children, Kenneth (Jill) Hartwig, and William (Nancy) Hartwig; daughter-in-law, Natalie Hartwig; grandchildren, Berith Hartwig, Shereth (Peter) Tran, Joy (Jason) Latek, Jennifer (Chris) Orth, and William (Charisse) Hartwig; great-grandchildren, Kate and Carson Latek, and Harrison Orth; sister, Pauline (Howard) Veath, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Floyd Glen “Bill” Hartwig; son, Rev. John David (Natalie) Hartwig; grandson, Andrew David Hartwig; sister, Katherine (Earl) Hutchings, and brothers, John (Ellen) Speck, and George Speck.
Visitation will be held from 4:30-7:30p.m., Friday, December 30,2011, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60014.
Funeral Service will be held at 10a.m., Saturday, December 31,2011, at St. Mathews Lutheran Church, Barrington.
Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Andrew D. Hartwig Memorial Music Scholarship Fund, 709 Exmoor Ave., Barrington, IL 60010.
