Evelyn E. Wolthausen-Mack, 92, of Cary, formerly Elgin and Barrington, passed away September 17, 2015.
She was born on January 17, 1923, to William and Eunice Froehlich, in Warner, South Dakota. She was raised in Greenwood, Wisconsin.
Evelyn had a substantial work ethic having worked at the Jewel Tea Company, Hough Street School as a Librarian, Barrington High School in the cafeteria, was a bookkeeper for the Northwestern Railway and for Paulson Lumber in Barrington.
She was a dedicated member of Salem United Methodist Church since 1940, where she was also a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was a past president of the JOY class, and was a member of the Church Women United. Evelyn also sang in the Chicago Coral Union choir, and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. Evelyn also enjoyed sewing, square dancing, needle work, polkas, ad spending time with her church friends and her family.
Evelyn will be dearly missed by her four children, Barbara A. (Paul) Hamm of Barrington, Marilyn E. (Warren) Sunderlage of Barrington, Bonnie J. (David) Sunderlage of Waukesha, and Connie Joy (Harry) Kvidera of Moffat, CO.; her ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Wolthausen; husband, John P. Mack, Sr., infant daughter, Georgelyn Rae; granddaughter, Dawn Hamm; twin great-granddaughters, Carly and Caroline Sunderlage; and brother, Harold (Ethel) Froehlich.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 20, from 3-7p.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W Main St., Barrington. Visitation will continue at the funeral home, from 10a.m., until the funeral service at 11a.m., Monday, September 21.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
