Evelyn Monday, 83, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Wauconda, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at The Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.
Born June 19, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a graduate of Kelvyn Park High School, Chicago. Evelyn was united in marriage to David William Monday in Chicago.
Evelyn worked as the secretary to the superintendent for Fremont Center School and later worked as the secretary at Messiah Lutheran Church in Wauconda. Evelyn and her husband David led Eskin Tours around the world.
Evelyn was an active member of Lifelong Learners. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling, playing pinochle and especially loved her grandchildren. She really valued her friendships.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy (Ralph) Ferguson, Sharon (Jack Paxton) Monday and Kim (Tom Tucker) Royster; and grandchildren, David and Matt Ferguson, Reinal and Maria Dorsey, and Taylor Tucker.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Martin and Anna (nee Kobes) Kasch; and sister, Carolyn (Carl) Maendler.
The Funeral Service will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 5 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 932 S. McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake, where the family will be receiving friends from 1:00pm until the time of service. An ice-cream social will follow the service at the church. Additional services will be held in Florida. Interment will be in the Bushnell National Cemetery in Florida.
