Faye Kiser of Alden Estates, Barrington, formerly of Glen Ellyn, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014.
She was born to Charles Fay and Lucetta Graves Smith on September 11, 1918 in Chicago. Raised in Cicero, she attended Cicero public schools and graduated from Morton High School. She held a variety of retail and clerical positions before moving to Glen Ellyn in 1956. Employed by Boardman Realty, she acquired a salesperson’s license and concluded her career with First United Realty. In retirement, she spent a number of years as hostess at the Karousel beauty salon in Glen Ellyn.
In 1939, she married Paul Kiser of Cicero. They lived in Shawano, Wisconsin and Oak Park before moving to Glen Ellyn. In Oak Park, she was active in the Lyrians, a woman’s choral group; and in Glen Ellyn she and Paul were active in Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed their many friends in the Fourth Nighters couples club. Important to them were their Vine Street neighbors and their friends and staff at The Meadows in Glen Ellyn.
Faye was predeceased by her parents; husband Paul; son Robert and sister Lucetta Thompson.
She is survived by her son Kenneth (Carol) of Rensselaer, New York; brother-in-law John Kiser (Doris) of Downers Grove; daughter-in-law Rosemary Kiser of Barrington; former daughter-in-law Karin May of Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and grandchildren Kristin (Marc) Attenberg of New York City, Laura (Christopher) White of New York City, William (Lisa) of Vernon Hills, Jennifer (Jared) Nehmer of Racine, Wisconsin, Kimberly Gorman of Kenosha, Wisconsin, six great-grandchildren, as well as a nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews, and great grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 41 N. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137, where the family will be receiving friends after the service. Inurnment will be private at Forest Hill Cemetery, Glen Ellyn.
