Florence Stachowiak

Florence Stachowiak, 100, of Barrington, IL peacefully passed away on June 15, 2022. Florence was born in Chicago, IL on September 15, 1921.

Florence's life was filled with many memories but being with family is what she enjoyed the most. Hosting and attending holidays, birthday parties, baptism, weddings. Anything that brought family and friends together. She was the matriarch of these events. Another thing she enjoyed was traveling. Whether it was family vacations or just getting away to warmer weather, she was ready to go. In fact she just relocated back to Illinois after a winter filled with sunshine and warmth in Arizona.

Throughout the years she has had many joys, but nothing could compare to the joy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought. Being there for as many events as possible always put the biggest smile on her face. Grammy, as she was affectionately called, was there to cheer them on and watch the joy it brought them. It didn’t matter if it was a dance recital, an outdoor baseball game or inside a freezing ice rink for hockey, she was there. Just last year she braved the cold again to watch her great-grandchildren play hockey. Technology was the biggest blessing to her. FaceTime allowed her to attend events or just say hello to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends no matter where they lived.

Florence is survived by her children:  David (Wendy) Stachowiak and Christina (Frank) Russo. Grandchildren:  Angela Marie (Vito) Napolitano, David (Kerrin) Stachowiak Jr., Dayna Russo, Benjamin (Kayla) Stachowiak, Tony Russo, and Rocco (Ceci Komp) Stachowiak.  Great-grandchildren: Vitoantonio, Luca, Stella, and Easton.  Sister-in-law: Florence Stachowiak and ex daughter-in-law: Angela Stachowiak. She is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband: Stanley. Mother: Bernice (nee Bednarek) Perfikowski, and brother: Chester Milczarek.

Visitation will be held June 20, 2022 from 9am till the time of mass at 11am at Saint Anne Catholic Community Church, 120 N. Ela Street Barrington, IL.
