Florette M. Kaiser, 75, of Crystal Lake, was born December 8, 1942 in Gary, IN to George and Mildred (nee Fuhlberg) Letz. She passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in Huntley.
Florette was a graduate of Crown Point High School in Indiana before obtaining an Associate’s Degree from Stephens College. She moved then to Drake University to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. During her over 30 year career as a teacher in Indiana and Illinois, Florette was awarded her Master’s in Education. She spent the majority of her career teaching in District 47 in Crystal Lake. Florette was a proud volunteer at Immanuel Lutheran Church as well as the Crystal Lake food pantry. She had a compassionate nature, which made it easy for her to make new friends and help others in need. Florette loved to travel and laugh; her boisterous laugh is one her husband will miss dearly. But of all else, she was an incredibly proud grandmother, always supportive and being their number one fan.
Florette will be missed by her husband of 51 years, Ronald Kaiser, whom she married August 5, 1966 in Germany; her sons, Erick (Aimée) Kaiser and Matthew (Morgen) Kaiser; her grandchildren, Owen, Kalissa, Caroline, and Clare; her brother, George (Sharon) Letz III; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive guests from 4-8pm, Friday, August 3, 2018 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Historic Campus, 178 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment is private.
