Frances Waghorn-Homeier

Frances L. Waghorn-Homeier, 67, of Crystal Lake passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. She was born March 21, 1948 in Woodstock to Bernard and Mae May (nee Miller).

Fran had a master’s degree from the University of Illinois. She taught special education for many years. On July 4, 1996 she married Jeffrey Homeier in Woodstock. Fran loved decorating, reading, floral arranging, painting, and antique collecting. Her beautiful blue eyes and great big smile will be missed by many.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Homeier; children, Lauren (Chris) Waghorn-Staly, Carrie Waghorn, Gary Homeier, John (Terri) Homeier, and Megan Homeier; four grandchildren; and siblings , Brook May, Felicia (Don) Englert, Denise (Orval) Wilson, Scarlett (John) McGowen, Ann (Bob) Setter, Chad (Pam) May, and Luke May.

Fran was preceded in death by her mother, Mae.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, from 3 pm - 7 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rte 176), Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am on Monday, November 23, at Grace Lutheran Church, 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Rd, Woodstock. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Hartland.
