Francis Smiddy Jr.

Francis Smiddy, Jr of Palatine, IL went home to be with the Lord April 9, 2022.  He was born December 7, 1936 in Kenvir, KY to Francis and Flotilla Smiddy.

Francis loved bowling and fishing in Canada.  He also loved rooting for his favorite Chicago sports teams; the Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, and Cubbies, the White Sox, not so much!  Francis was a member of the McHenry Gospel Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barybee; son, Glen F. (Kathy) Smiddy; granddaughter, Jennifer (Adam) Martinez; grandson, Glen F. Smiddy II; and great grandchildren, Anthony, Mackenzie, Andrew, and Adam II.  Francis was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and six sisters.

Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday, April 13 and from 10am until the funeral service at 11am, Thursday April 14, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Road) Barrington.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
