Frank Ambra

Barrington, Illinois,Frank D?Ambra Jr. of Barrington at rest April 12, 2011 in Barrington He was the beloved husband for 59 years of Joan A. (nee Arnold); devoted father of Frank (Lisa), Craig W. (Sharon), Keith A. (Melody) and Lynn M. (Dan) Yapp-Pfeifer; cherished grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandsons. Frank graduated from the University of Rhode Island. He served in World War II as a bombardier navigator on a B24 and was also a prisoner of war. An avid golfer, Frank was a member of the Biltmore Country Club and active with the Chicago District Golf Association. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11a.m. Friday April 15 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street (Corner of Franklin and Ela Streets), Barrington, where he will lie in state from 9a.m. until the time of the mass. Interment in Rhode Island will be private.
