Frank Lemke

Crystal Lake, Illinois,Frank Lemke, 86, of Crystal Lake, entered into new life Friday, April 15, 2011, in Woodstock. He was born Feb. 10 1925, in Chicago, to Arthur and Julia Lemke. He married Barbara (Fox) on May 2, 1953, in Chicago. He and his family travelled extensively throughout the Pacific West Coast, where he and Barb especially enjoyed San Francisco, Washington State and Hawaii. He often enjoyed listening to jazz music and sportscasts of the Cubbies; though next to baseball, he also enjoyed a good game of golf. He truly loved driving around from one garage or rummage sale to the next trying to find the best bargain to bring home. He will be remembered as being a Navy veteran, and for the compassionate love that he gave to his family. He truly will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his cherished children, Thomas (Theresa) Lemke, Jerry (Kathy)Lemke, Frank Lemke and Judy, nee Lemke, Swett; his adored grandchildren, Tom (Angela) Lemke, Krissy(Scott) Starwalt, Dan (Carrie) Lemke and Amy (Hansen) Voss; his loving great-grandchildren, Rebekah Starwalt, Timothy Starwalt, Evan Scholl and Madison Lemke; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Lemke. The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20 at the funeral home.
