Frank Stanley Mikrut, Jr., 84, of Crystal Lake passed away March 7, 2017. He was born in Chicago on January 2, 1933 to Frank S. and Stephania (nee Zolkowska) Mikrut.
Frank graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago then enlisted in the US Army where he served during the Korean War.
He married Arlene Huber on February 16, 1957. They were married 61 years before her passing in 2014. They made their home in Bensenville, IL and raised three sons. In 2004 they moved up to Huntley.
Frank enjoyed fishing, bowling and was an avid Chicago sports fan, especially cheering on the Cubs.
He is survived by his sons, Scott (Donna) of Davenport, FL and Bryan (Caron) of Crystal Lake; six grandchildren, Scott (Heather), Jess (Luke) Trayser, Alyssa, Jennifer (Brandon) Klima, Kevin, and Tyler (Danielle); great-grandchildren, Deakon, Hadleigh, Nolan, and two more on the way; sister, Sandra Stone; and daughter-in-law, Gloria.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; son, Wayne; great-grandson, Landon; brother, Ron; and sister, Delores.
A memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 1st, from 3 PM until the time of a Celebration of Life service at 6 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.
