Frederick “Dick” Dickenson 74, of Barrington

Born June 7, 1937 in Detroit, MI, he passed away Mon. Sept. 19  in Barrington, surrounded by his family.

Dick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dinnie, sons Jeff (Susan) and Bill (Kelly) Dickenson, granddaughters Zoey and Annie, and  sisters Joyce (Skip) Mott, and Jane Glass.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Olive (nee Sinclair) Dickenson.

 Dick was a graduate of Culver Military Academy and received his bachelors degree from Purdue University.  He enjoyed playing tennis and golf, sailing, and coaching youth sports, mostly he loved spending time with his family.

 Memorial visitation will be 3-7pm Sun., Sept. 25 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St, Barrington.  Memorial service will be 10:30a.m. Mon. Sept 26 at the funeral home.  Interment is private.

 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation “JDRF” 26 Broadway, New York, NY 10004; or Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL, 60010.
