Gaetano Gammeri

On Saturday, August 14, 2021, Gaetano Gammeri, loving husband and father of three passed away at the age of 86.

Gaetano was born in Sicily in February of 1935. He was a hardworking man, who used his knowledge of many trades to provide for his family in the fields of lumber, masonry, and eventually as a skilled cobbler. As a young man, Gaetano moved to Argentina where he married Victoria Menta. Eventually, the family immigrated to Chicago where he continued his work and raised his daughter, Patricia and two sons, Sergio and Pablo.

Gaetano was known for his amazing barbecues, his unparalleled generosity, and his warm smile. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

In addition to his wife and his children, Gaetano is survived by his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be held by his family this fall.
