Gary E. Macari

Gary E. Macari, 67, of Crystal Lake, was born on December 29, 1950 to the late Quinton and the late Julia Macari and passed away on June 14, 2018 after battling cancer valiantly. Gary was the loving husband of Nancy (nee Hayward) for 44 years; beloved father of Robert (Julie Ferguson) Macari and Molly (Christopher) Geli; cherished grandfather of Owen and Zachary Geli; brother of Carol Bowman, James (Kay) Macari, Larry (Cathy) Macari, Thresa (Ken) Johnson, Ron (Nan) Macari, Quinton (Valarie) Macari, Jr.; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Macari; his sister-in-law, Karen Martin; his brother-in-law, Milton Bowman; his niece, Katie Macari.

Gary graduated from high school in 1968 from Woodruff High School, Peoria. He then graduated from Monmouth College in 1972. He worked as the office manager for many years at Conlon Collins Ford in Crystal Lake and Anderson Motors in Crystal Lake. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Chicago sports fan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, from 4:00-8:00pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. On Tuesday, June 19, visitation will begin at 9:00am until the time of his service at 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately for family at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora.
