Geno Wright

Gean “Geno” Anthony Wright, of Crystal Lake, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2024 at the age of 37.

He was born April 22, 1987, in Barrington, the son of Randy and Jo Ann (nee Miceli) Wright.

Geno will be dearly missed by his parents, Randy and Jo Ann; his sister, Jenna (Bryan) Gartner; fiancée, Mikayla Ackerman and her son, Leo; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ida and Theodore Miceli; his paternal grandparents, Gean and Patsy Wright. 

At the heart of Geno's life was family. He adored his fiancée, Mikayla, and the time they spent together brought him immense happiness. Geno had an especially deep bond with 2-year-old, Leo, whom he loved dearly. His love for them, and the joy he found in being a part of their lives, will never be forgotten.

Those who knew Geno best will remember his larger-than-life personality, his magnetic laugh, and his passionate support of the Second Amendment, which he showcased through his career and hobbies. Whether belting out the iconic sounds of Meatloaf or rocking out to Jelly Roll, Geno was always the life of the party. He was also a master of Trivial Pursuit, never shy to show off his knowledge of obscure facts.

A man who wore his beard proudly, Geno left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2nd from 4-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue the following day Friday, January 3rd at the funeral home, from 8:30-9:30am, with procession to follow to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, for the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
