George Joseph Bach, 63, died peacefully on January 16, 2023. George was born in Dearborn, Michigan on August 5, 1959 and raised in Southfield, Michigan. George graduated from Brother Rice High School in 1977, received a B.A. from Marquette University (Political Science) in 1981, a Master’s Degree from Marquette (Political Science and Urban Planning) in 1984 and an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1992.
George’s passion for service began when he rushed Delta Chi fraternity at Marquette. During his senior year he met his beloved wife Lisa, a junior and member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. George and Lisa were married at St. James Parish in Arlington Heights, Illinois on June 22, 1985.
George gave back to his community by serving on the Fox River Grove Village Board of Trustees and the Saints Peter and Paul Financial Board. He was also a proud Lions Club member. His greatest service was as Scout Leader to his sons’ and nephew Boy Scout Troop 657. While George enjoyed guiding his troop on many adventures, his favorite trips were vacations with his family. Some of the most enjoyable family trips include a visit to Austria, vacations to Disney World and a tour of Detroit, where George showed his family the city through his eyes. Lisa’s favorite trip with George was their honeymoon in England.
Despite his Michigan roots, George became one of the most faithful Bears fans after relocating to the Chicagoland area; he was known to text his children one word: “Bears”.
George’s loving legacy is his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Ann (nee Karson), and children: Brandon (Jagoda), Kenneth (fiancée Michelle), Alexander (Alexandra), Ashley, and granddaughter Olivia. George is also survived by his sister Grace Ann (Michael) Ostrow (nee Bach), Brother-in-Laws Steven Karson, Jr. (Christine) and Patrick Gries, along with his aunt: Delphine Marie Bachorski, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
George was preceded in death by his loving parents Arthur and Cecilia Bach (nee Bober), his Sister-in-Law Allyson Sue Gries (nee Karson), his Mother-in-Law Betty Jane Karson (nee Healy) and Father-in-Law Steven Charles Karson.
